Oral herpes is mainly divided into two types: herpes simplex and herpes zoster, with herpes simplex taking about 10 days to heal and herpes zoster lasting 1-2 weeks. Herpes simplex is caused by the herpes simplex virus and is self-limiting and recurrent, occurring mainly on or near the mouth and lips. It is often accompanied by significant neuralgia, and in severe cases, secondary infections manifesting as pustules may occur. The lesions usually decrust in about 1-2 weeks and gradually heal, and the pigmentation fades. It is recommended that if you have oral herpes, especially for patients with herpes zoster, you should actively seek medical examination and antiviral treatment to avoid aggravation of the disease or secondary infection.
