For a long time, Western medicine has always taken the elimination of disease-causing factors as the purpose of treatment, therefore, etiology treatment has been the main viewpoint of Western medicine in treating diseases; Chinese medicine, in the process of treating diseases, emphasizes human activeness and advocates the human-oriented thought that positive energy exists within and evil cannot be interfered with. Both of them have made great contributions in the history of human health development. With the development of society and the needs of human health, both Chinese medicine and Western medicine have revealed some of their respective defects. Therefore, the combination of Chinese and Western medicine is receiving more and more attention from the medical community. The combination of modern medicine and Chinese medicine is receiving better and better clinical results in dermatology treatment. The main ideas of combined Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of dermatological diseases include the combination of disease identification and evidence-based treatment; the combination of treatment to eliminate evil and to support positive; the combination of local and overall treatment; and the combination of recent cure and long-term regimen. Different diseases or different stages of the same disease may be suitable for treatment by different methods of Chinese and Western medicine. In general, acute skin diseases or critical skin conditions with clear pathogenic bacteria are suitable for treatment by Western medicine, such as impetigo, gonorrhea, drug rash, neonatal exfoliative dermatitis, etc.; chronic skin diseases with dampness, phlegm, stasis and imbalance of Qi and blood as the main causative factors, such as eczema, chloasma, chronic urticaria, pruritus, etc. Chronic skin diseases such as eczema, chloasma, chronic urticaria, senile pruritus, etc. are suitable for TCM treatment. In contrast, difficult skin diseases such as lupus erythematosus and vitiligo, for which there is no good solution from Chinese and Western medicine, should be treated with a combination of Chinese and Western medicine. The treatment according to the disease can help reduce the detours, reduce the waste of resources and make the combination of Chinese and Western medicine more meaningful. For the treatment of SLE, especially lupus nephritis, corticosteroids have long been recognized as having good efficacy, but from the 10-year follow-up results, hormones cannot prevent more than 90% of lupus nephritis patients from entering renal failure, and the long-term effect is very unsatisfactory, and many side effects and withdrawal crises can easily occur. immunosuppressant dosage and side effects to stabilize the disease, and also reduce the rebound rate and improve the quality of life of patients. In the case of eczema, the efficacy of Western medicine alone is not satisfactory, so many patients turn to Chinese medicine. Some experts use Fu Ling Tang to treat eczema internally, with a total efficiency of about 79%. The formula relies on Fu Ling to target the cause of eczema, which is a loss of spleen health, dampness and internal heat, and external evil. Animal experiments have shown that Fu Ling Tang may inhibit ICAM-Ⅰ expression and type IV metaplasia in order to treat eczema. In addition, the total effective rate of compound Chinese herbal medicines that clear heat and detoxify toxins, remove dampness and relieve itching, while used with external lotions to treat damp-heat eczema is about 89%, and such compound Chinese medicines generally have the effect of regulating immune function and anti-allergic inflammatory reactions. For psoriasis, the application of hormones, retinoids, anti-tumor drugs and immunosuppressants in Western medicine have serious toxic side effects, so the combination of Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of psoriasis is generally valued by scholars. For example, on the basis of western medicine treatment such as corticosteroids, neotenicasone and retinoic acid, supplemented with traditional Chinese medicine, the overall trend of the result is that it can enhance the efficacy, shorten the course of treatment and reduce the toxic side effects of western medicine, which has a positive effect on stabilizing the disease, reducing complications and improving the prognosis. In addition, the application of physical therapy of western medicine together with traditional Chinese medicine for psoriasis has also achieved better overall efficacy. For example, Chinese medicine oxygen therapy provides a new method for the external treatment of psoriasis in Chinese medicine; narrow-wave UVB with Chinese medicine in the treatment of psoriasis not only has better recent efficacy, but also can reduce the recurrence of psoriasis. In his long-term clinical practice, researcher Xu Mou, a famous Chinese and Western medicine combined with dermatological venereology expert in China, has adopted Dan Snake Detoxification Soup combined with small dose Di Yin Tablet to treat chronic plaque psoriasis, which not only enhances the clinical efficacy of Chinese medicine alone in treating the disease, but also alleviates the side effects of Di Yin Tablet alone, with the characteristics of good efficacy, short course of treatment, low toxic side effects and not easy to relapse. At present, under the guidance of my supervisor, I am carrying out scientific research on this topic to objectively evaluate the clinical efficacy of combining Chinese and Western medicine on the disease, and to explore the interventional regulation of the main pathological target factors IL-2, TNF-α and blood lipids in patients with chronic plaque psoriasis from the level of immune cytokines, so as to elaborate the relevant mechanism of the therapeutic effect of combining Chinese and Western medicine from one side, and to make this research reach a new level from theory to practice. This will enable the research to reach a new level from theory to practice, so as to further guide clinical practice. With the improvement of people’s living standard, cosmetic-related skin diseases such as melasma, acne, and skin aging are gradually gaining attention. Due to the lack of effective treatment methods, more and more dermatologists are focusing on the treatment and prevention of cosmetic-related skin diseases by means of Chinese medicine. TCM beauty emphasizes the overall regulation of all organs of the body, and there are many treatment methods, forming effective beauty methods such as internal and external use of drugs, acupuncture, food therapy, medicinal baths, massage, health care, and emotional and spiritual regulation. Take chloasma as an example, the treatment mostly adopts the method of draining the liver, strengthening the spleen and tonifying the kidney, and the commonly used formulas include Liu Wei Di Huang Wan or Jia Wei Yi Yao Wan. Experiments have proved that Liu Wei Di Huang Wan has a significant inhibitory effect on complexinase; Jia Wei Yi Yao Wan has a lowering effect on the increased level of female hormones in female melasma serum. In the future, we should insist on the research of Chinese and Western medicine in cosmetic skin diseases, and use modern technology and experimental means to find and prove the really effective cosmetic drugs, combine the effective Chinese medicine ingredients with modern cosmetic technology, and develop the products with market competitiveness. In conclusion, the combination of Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of dermatological diseases is mainly to absorb the characteristics and advantages of Chinese medicine and Western medicine in the treatment of the two organic combination, integration and penetration, each taking advantage of the strengths, so as to achieve the purpose of improving the efficacy of treatment, can achieve better clinical efficacy than a single Western or Chinese medicine. It is not only a reflection of the innovative and advanced ideas of modern therapeutics, but also a transformation and innovation of traditional therapeutic concepts. The combination of Chinese and Western medicine is not only the characteristic and direction of the development of dermatology in China, but also the inevitable choice to improve the treatment level of dermatology in China.
