What should I do if my baby chokes on milk?

During breastfeeding, babies are always choking and many mothers don’t know what to do. If the baby is choking, should the mother pick up the baby? The next step is to tell you what to do. The next step is to talk to you about it. When your baby is eating milk, whether it is breast milk or formula, if your baby is choking, don’t pick your baby up immediately. The biggest problem with choking is lung aspiration or affecting the baby’s normal breathing. If you pick your baby up right away, the choking will be even less likely to be expelled and your baby will become even more dangerous. What should be done? 1, minor choking: you can let the baby sit, body leaning forward (not backward), the mother with one hand to hold the baby’s jawbone, the other hand to pat the baby’s back. 2, when serious choking: let the baby lie flat, head lower than the body. Keep the baby’s mouth and nose usually. Then the mother uses one hand to hold the baby’s jawbone with the tiger’s mouth and the other hand to pat the baby’s back, patting hard for 5 consecutive times. If there is still no effect, you can lay the baby face up on the mother’s forearm or above the knee, put the head a little lower, place two fingers on the sternum a finger width below the nipple, and give the baby five presses. 3. If the situation is critical, it is better to take the baby to the hospital as soon as possible. On the way to the hospital, be sure to continue to repeat the back palpation and chest compressions. Let the baby’s head tilt back slightly to clear the airway and give 2 artificial respirations. Caution 1. Do not shake the baby. 2. Do not put your hand down the baby’s throat. Only remove the blockage if you can see it clearly in the baby’s mouth. How to avoid it? 1.Prevent your baby from eating milk too quickly because he/she is too hungry. 2. For babies who choke easily, let your baby drink slowly while drinking milk. Choose a small flow rate pacifier for your baby to use. If the baby chokes, the mother can try the above methods, if nothing changes, it is better to take the baby to the hospital immediately.
