Bifurcation of urine is mainly divided into physiological and pathological bifurcation of urine. Occasional bifurcation of urine is due to sexual intercourse or sexual urge to secrete a small amount of mucus from the urethra causing adhesion of the urethra. Occasional bifurcation of urine is normal and not a disease or a bad sign. Frequent bifurcation of urine along with other uncomfortable symptoms, such as frequent urination, urgent urination, and especially stinging urination, is abnormal due to gonorrheal urethritis, non-gonorrheal urethritis, and prostatitis, which can lead to pathological bifurcation of urine. Pathological bifurcation of urine occurs frequently and is not occasional.
