What will happen if I don’t get blood in my stool?

If a patient has recurrent episodes of haemorrhoidal bleeding in the stool and the episodes are not actively treated, it can easily lead to a chronic loss of blood volume or a sudden and dramatic drop in blood volume, both of which can lead to varying degrees of anaemia. If the anaemia worsens and becomes severe, it may affect the patient’s heart function and even pose a threat to life and limb.
