Does blood in the stool always mean blood in the hemorrhoids?

Not all blood in the stool is haemorrhoid blood in the stool. It is important to have the relevant tests to identify the cause of the blood in the stool to avoid misdirection of treatment.
If the bleeding is simple haemorrhoids or anal fissures, the mainstay of treatment is topical haemostatic medication. In cases of bleeding due to inflammatory bowel disease, or in the presence of intestinal polyps and intestinal tumours, it is important to actively treat the primary cause to avoid delaying the condition.
