If a patient’s dilated eye exam results in 150 degrees of myopia, he or she is truly myopic. The need for glasses depends on different situations. If the patient’s visual acuity is above 0.6, he or she does not need to wear glasses when reading or writing homework, but only when watching slides in class, watching movies, driving and other long-distance use of the eyes. If the patient’s visual acuity is below 0.6, it is recommended that the patient wears glasses for a long time, no matter at close or far distance, so as to effectively prevent the occurrence of visual fatigue. Patients with myopia are advised to avoid excessive eye use in daily life, take proper rest and have a balanced diet. Also visit the hospital ophthalmology department regularly.
