What causes leg cramps

The causes of frequent leg cramps can be considered as follows: First, it may be due to cold in the leg muscles, resulting in local muscle convulsions and spasms and causing leg cramps. Second, it may be due to insufficient intake of calcium, resulting in reduced secretion of troponin, causing leg muscle cramps, which can be clearly diagnosed by testing the blood calcium concentration at the hospital. Third, patients suffering from organic diseases, such as vascular spasm in the brain, stroke or congenital nerve injury, such as epileptic patients or tetanus infection, due to loss of muscle deployment, local hypertonia, muscle overexcitation and lead to leg cramps. Fourth, excessive activity, prolonged exercise leads to a large amount of water and electrolyte loss in the body, causing water and electrolyte disorders and cramps. Fifth, prolonged bad standing posture or bad sitting posture causes unbalanced calf muscle strength, resulting in muscle fatigue and leg cramps.
