What’s wrong with a little itchy foreskin?

  Itching of the foreskin is commonly caused by glansitis or sexually transmitted diseases such as condyloma acuminatum and genital herpes. Microorganisms that cause glans vulgaris can be bacterial, fungal or trichomonas. Viral infections generally cause sexually transmitted diseases.  Bacterial glansitis usually manifests as redness and swelling of the glans skin, itching is evident, and in severe cases can cause erosion and oozing or even the formation of blisters. Fungal glansitis with Candida albicans infection is the most common, mainly manifesting as glans erythema, smooth surface, surrounded by small herpes may exist, itching is obvious. Trichomonas glans is mainly characterized by erythema and papules with clear boundaries, which can fuse and expand, and blisters can be formed on the red shift, with severe itching.  Itching of the glans caused by sexually transmitted diseases is commonly associated with condyloma acuminata or genital herpes. Condyloma acuminatum is caused by infection with the human papilloma virus, and humans are the only hosts for the virus. It usually develops about three weeks after infection. In men, it is usually seen as a reddish papule with a sharp tip on the glans and coronal area, often causing bleeding and itching on the glans after friction with underwear. Genital herpes is caused by infection with the herpes simplex virus, and humans are the only hosts of the virus. In humans, the disease develops about a week after infection with the virus, mainly in the genitalia, where small clusters of blisters appear, which break down and form vesicles or ulcers together with itching and pain.  The prevention of the above disease is very simple, pay attention to perineal hygiene, regular warm water cleaning foreskin glans, pay attention to the choice of sexual partners, the best use of condoms when having sex.
