There are three main types of enema treatment for intussusception, namely air enema, barium enema and water pressure enema under ultrasound monitoring, as follows: 1. Air enema is mainly used to achieve intestinal repositioning by injecting air into the colon, which is suitable for patients with a disease duration of 48 hours, in good general condition or with an onset of more than 48 hours, but without obvious dehydration or abdominal distension. 2. 3.B ultrasound supervised hydro-pressure enema mainly involves injecting warm 0.9% sodium chloride into the colon and scanning with ultrasound to observe the solution slowly filling the intestinal canal from the sigmoid colon and flowing to the site of intussusception, while massaging the patient’s abdomen by hand to speed up the flow of the solution to achieve reset. Patients with more serious conditions or who do not respond well to enema treatment will need to be treated by laparoscopic surgery.
