There are two main causes of intestinal spasm. The first is organic intestinal diseases, such as tumors and other occupying lesions. The second is intestinal dysfunction resulting in excessive intestinal peristalsis and excessive contraction of the smooth muscle of the intestinal wall, which in turn causes intestinal spasm.
When colic occurs, the first thing to do is to go to the hospital for X-ray examination, to discharge the symptoms of abdominal pain caused by reflex contraction of the intestinal wall due to tumor or larger polyps obstructing the intestine, and then the symptoms of abdominal pain. If it is not an organic lesion, it is related to eating too much spicy and stimulating food, or long-term cold under the feet. In addition, intestinal spasms in infants and children are usually related to congenital intestinal stenosis, and early surgery is recommended to avoid other disorders such as intestinal infarction.
Therefore, when intestinal spasm occurs, the cause should be distinguished, and the occupying or congenital lesion should be treated with surgery as soon as possible, so that the colic symptoms will naturally heal themselves with the healing of the original disease, and when there are other causes of intestinal spasm, timely antispasmodic symptomatic treatment is needed.
