Can you fully recover from lumbar spinal stenosis surgery?

Lumbar spinal stenosis surgery does not necessarily lead to a full recovery, depending on the severity of the condition to make a judgment. Lumbar spinal stenosis is mostly caused by congenital spinal stenosis or acquired degenerative changes of lumbar spine, which leads to narrowing of lumbar spinal canal and compression of nerves in the spinal canal, causing claudication, numbness of lower limbs, etc. It is a chronic disease and generally does not require emergency treatment, but when abnormal sensation in perineal area and incontinence occur, surgical treatment is required to release lumbar spinal stenosis. If the spinal nerves in the spinal canal are compressed for a longer period of time, after surgical treatment, the recovery is slower and may not be complete; if the compression time is shorter, the recovery may be complete. The disease may recur even if the stenosis is surgically released. If lumbar spinal stenosis is diagnosed, early and standardized treatment is recommended to minimize the adverse effects of the disease.
