What does diarrhoea mean in pregnancy?

Diarrhoea in pregnant women is a diarrhoeal condition that occurs when a pregnant woman is extremely susceptible to external factors due to changes in her body’s hormone levels, prolonged gastric emptying time and weakened small intestinal peristalsis.
Diarrhoea can be caused by bacterial infections, eating spoiled food, etc. Different types of diarrhoea should be treated differently. Diarrhoea in pregnant women should be given sufficient attention and treatment should be directed in a timely manner to avoid causing contractions that could lead to miscarriage and premature birth; especially for diarrhoea caused by infection, timely anti-inflammatory treatment is needed to avoid intrauterine infection and intrauterine oxygen deprivation in the foetus. The first step is to identify and remove the cause, change to a liquid and easily digestible diet, fasting and rehydration if necessary.
