What to do if a sinus tract in the breast does not heal for a long time

In general, if there is a sinus tract that does not heal for a long period of time consider that there is an underlying abscess focus deep within the sinus tract, a condition that can be difficult to heal. Even if it heals temporarily, it may eventually ulcerate or form multiple abscesses in the breast. Diagnostically, the lesion can be clarified by ultrasound or sinus tractography, especially the extent of the lesion and the deeper part of the breast. For treatment, a combination of anti-inflammatory, physiotherapy, and topical treatment should be taken early, followed by surgery if necessary, to completely remove all lesions.
