Sudden normalization of blood glucose in diabetic patients may be caused by good blood glucose control, diabetic honeymoon period, hypopituitarism and so on.
1. Good blood sugar control: diabetic patients insist on taking oral hypoglycemic drugs at regular intervals or taking insulin injections to reduce blood sugar, after a period of time, blood sugar is controlled and blood sugar can be suddenly normalized.
2. Honeymoon period of diabetes: In the clinic, there are some patients who will enter the clinical remission period, which is also known as “honeymoon period of diabetes”, after receiving sufficient insulin treatment at the early stage of the disease. The pancreatic function of the patients will be partially or completely restored, and the clinical symptoms will be improved significantly. The patient’s insulin function is partially or completely restored, and clinical symptoms are significantly improved. The blood glucose level can also be maintained at near normal or within the normal range.
3. Hypopituitarism: the patient’s blood sugar is suddenly normal “illusion”, the pituitary blood supply is insufficient, and the pituitary function declines. The pituitary gland’s function decreases. After the glucagon secretion decreases, the originally high blood sugar drops to normal.
Therefore, the sudden normalization of blood glucose in diabetic patients is not necessarily a good thing, and it is necessary to consult a doctor in time to clarify the cause and treatment.
