Soft ureteroscope, also known as soft ureteroscope, has the advantages of being minimally invasive, safe, less painful for the patient and faster recovery than the hard ureteroscope, which is widely used in China. However, it is more expensive and easily damaged, and requires higher technical operation level of doctors. Soft ureteroscopy is mainly used for transurethral ureteroscopic Holmium laser lithotripsy to deal with stones in the renal pelvis and calyces that are difficult to be reached by rigid scopes, especially stones in the lower renal calyces and some stones in the upper ureter, eliminating the surgical risk of percutaneous nephrolithotomy (kidney puncture and hole), which is a truly minimally invasive surgery. In addition, this technique is used for the diagnosis of unexplained upper urinary tract hematuria and the diagnosis of upper urinary tract epithelial tumors and follow-up.
