First of all, a high fever will appear about two days before the rash starts, but the child’s mental state will not be significantly worse, accompanied by a runny nose. The rash usually subsides about 24 hours after the onset of the rash. Fever and malaise may occur in the two days before the onset of chickenpox. It usually occurs in children between 2 and 10 years of age, while early childhood emergency rash usually occurs in infants and children less than one year old. The clinical presentation is also very different. The chickenpox rash has a variety of forms, and can have spots, papules, blisters and crusts at the same time, while the E.R. is mainly a spotty rash.
