What is the operation of filling and piling?

Filling and staking are two operations that are clinically targeted for the repair and restorative treatment of teeth. These two operations are generally not applied to one tooth tissue, but are two different treatments for different degrees of tooth defects. For fillings, we usually focus on decayed teeth or smaller defects. Because the defect is small, we choose the treatment method of repair, applying the dentistry power system, that is, the high-speed turbine drill, to prepare the cavity of the defect or cavity, and then apply the special filling material of dentistry to fill the tooth. This is the repair method for the early stage of tooth defect. If the defect is more serious and the crown is missing extensively, then the filling method cannot be applied and the piling method should be applied. Piling is a method of restoring the crown of the tooth by first performing a complete root canal treatment, then driving a metal or fiber pile into the pulp after the root treatment, and finally applying a crown restoration on top of the pile.
