Frequently misdiagnosed vertigo

Features of vertigo: (1) Latency period: symptoms appear only after a few seconds after a change in head position (2) Duration – gradual, weak, brief, reversible, fatigue (3) Adaptability (easily fatigued): (4) Interchangeability (both lying down and sitting up) The onset of symptoms is often associated with a certain head position or postural activity. The vertigo symptoms occur when the head position (affected ear down) is stimulated, the nystagmus occurs within 3-10s after the head position change, and the vertigo usually lasts within 60s, and may be accompanied by nausea and vomiting. The patient should be instructed to close the eyes, go from sitting position to side lying position, sit up when the vertigo disappears, and then lie down on the other side after 30s, alternating sides until the symptoms disappear, 3 times a day, 5-10 round trips each time, usually the symptoms disappear in 7-10 days.
