Can hematuria be cured?

The presence of haematuria, whether it is visual or microscopic, requires identification of the cause. Whether haematuria can be cured or not is more related to the original cause. Haematuria caused by acute glomerulonephritis will return to normal in most patients with rest and treatment and the haematuria will resolve spontaneously. Haematuria caused by acute nephritis will progress rapidly to end-stage renal failure in some patients, although the haematuria itself may gradually resolve. Haematuria due to chronic glomerular disease can also have recurrent symptoms due to recurrent disease, which is one of the signs of recurrent disease. Haematuria caused by urological tumours can also reduce or stop on its own, often giving the illusion of self-healing. It can also reappear when the disease recurs.
