Fatty liver can be classified as mild fatty liver, moderate fatty liver and severe fatty liver depending on the severity of the condition. If the fat content exceeds about 5%-10% of the liver weight, it can be considered to be in mild fatty liver. If the fat content is between 10%-25%, it can be considered as moderate fatty liver, and fat content >25% can be recognized as severe fatty liver. Fatty liver can also be determined by liver imaging to determine the degree of fatty liver classification, so patients with fatty liver need to have regular liver CT or MRI and other related tests. Fatty liver can also be divided into alcoholic fatty liver and non-alcoholic fatty liver. Alcoholic fatty liver is caused by abnormal liver function due to long-term heavy alcohol consumption, while non-alcoholic fatty liver has a great relationship with obesity and diet, so it must be controlled.
