How often to take ibuprofen fever reducer

Ibuprofen is clinically recommended to be taken at intervals of 4-6 hours. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drug. It generally takes about 2 hours for the drug to reach peak blood concentration after entering the bloodstream, after which the drug can be taken again after about 4-6 hours, and the number of doses should not exceed 4 times in a 24-hour period. Patients are usually advised to apply ibuprofen in moderation to reduce fever only when the fever reaches or exceeds 38.5°C. However, the application of NSAIDs should not be stacked with multiple drugs at the same time, otherwise the side effects of the drugs may be amplified. Also, patients may become dehydrated to varying degrees when using ibuprofen to reduce fever, so it is important to pay attention to proper hydration to avoid causing electrolyte disturbance. A common side effect of taking ibuprofen is gastrointestinal reactions, so it should not be used in high doses. It is recommended that if the patient’s symptoms are not relieved 3 days after using ibuprofen, he/she needs to visit the hospital promptly to rule out other diseases.
