Postoperative instructions: After your baby has undergone posterior scleral reinforcement surgery, postoperative care and review are very important. We would like to introduce the post-operative matters, and hope that you will read them carefully and follow the requirements strictly: 1. On the day of surgery, the surgical specialist will go to the ward for a room check, and we will open the eye gauze for the child on the morning of the first day after surgery. If the condition requires, we will instruct the parents to hold the follow-up appointment card and make an appointment for the second post-operative examination at the front desk on the first floor. After the gauze is opened, the parents will start to order medication for the child’s eye (see the medication instruction given by the doctor after the surgery for the specific method of ordering medication). 2. The surgical suture is absorbable and does not need to be removed. 3. Early postoperative conjunctival redness and swelling, photophobia and tearing, and occasional mild diplopia are normal phenomena, and parents should not be nervous. Conjunctival edema tends to gradually decrease within 1 week after surgery. Eye redness will recover in about 3 weeks after surgery. 4. The postoperative myopia control effect is variable and related to the preoperative condition itself (degree of myopia, fundus condition, postoperative complications, etc.), and the surgery is mainly for delaying the development of myopia and slowing down the growth of myopia, and postoperative lenses are still needed for treatment. 5.After the surgery, pay attention to monitoring the IOP, and follow up on any IOP changes. A few patients may have elevated IOP in the early postoperative period, which may require short-term use of IOP-lowering drugs, and generally recover in about 1 week after surgery …… 6.Some children may have headache, dizziness, nausea and vomiting symptoms after surgery, especially in older children, which are normal If the child’s symptoms are relieved in 1-2 days, parents need not worry, they can give the child to strengthen the abdominal massage and eat easily digestible food. 7.Afterwards, according to the doctor’s advice, routine post-operative review will be conducted in one week, one month, three months, six months and one year.
