Herpes simplex is not necessarily a precursor of AIDS. Herpes simplex is an infectious disease caused by infection with herpes simplex virus; while AIDS is an immunodeficiency disease caused by infection with HIV virus, herpes simplex virus infection can occur when the immunity of AIDS patients is reduced, but it does not mean that herpes simplex is a precursor of AIDS. Influenced by bad habits, such as staying up late, drinking alcohol for a long time, or emotions such as mental tension, anxiety and depression, which lead to a decrease in the body’s immunity, can infect the herpes simplex virus. The virus can cause local infection, and the skin surface of the invasion is limited to a cluster of small blisters, which may be accompanied by burning and itching symptoms, and after breaking, may appear vesicles, ulcers and other manifestations, and may also appear the whole body similar to herpes, as well as the flu, fever and other symptoms. HIV infection is most often caused by high-risk sexual behavior. The virus can invade and destroy lymphocytes, causing impairment of the body’s cellular immune function. Patients may develop persistent and widespread lymph node enlargement, mostly in the neck, armpits and groin, accompanied by fever, night sweats, malaise and chronic diarrhea, which are somewhat different from the symptoms of herpes simplex. Therefore, if symptoms of herpes simplex appear or are accompanied by a history of unclean sexual contact, patients are advised to seek medical examination to clarify the diagnosis. If an infection is present, timely and symptomatic treatment can improve the prognosis.
