What to do about blood clots caused by surgery

Postoperative thrombosis is the most common complication after surgery and must be brought to the attention of the patient. First of all, the specific site of the thrombus should be distinguished by ultrasound. For the peripheral type of deep vein thrombosis, which is also called intermuscular vein thrombosis, early bed activity should be avoided and aggressive and effective anticoagulation therapy should be performed, which can lead to effective relief. As for the central type, that is, iliofemoral DVT, because of the large size of the thrombus, it is easy to dislodge and form a lethal pulmonary embolism. Therefore, if central DVT is encountered, inferior vena cava filter implantation should be actively performed to prevent lethal pulmonary embolism, and thrombus aspiration or embolization treatment can also be performed, and effective anticoagulation is necessary. The dose of postoperative anticoagulant and the duration of anticoagulation must be analyzed specifically according to the original disease and surgery to avoid bleeding, so effective anticoagulation therapy must be performed under the guidance of doctors to avoid risks.
