What are the treatments for Hashimoto’s thyroiditis?

Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease that can lead to primary hypothyroidism. The treatment covers two parts: First, immunomodulatory treatment, the more commonly used drug is selenium yeast, this drug mainly regulates thyroid cell immunity, some patients taking it can reduce the level of thyroglobulin antibodies and thyroid peroxidase antibodies, reducing the damage to cells by the thyroid gland. Secondly, for patients who have combined hypothyroidism, they also need to take oral eugenol for replacement therapy, which can fully replenish the missing thyroid hormones in the body and restore the normal level of thyroid function.
