What are the ways to prevent HIV infection?

There are currently about 33 million infected people worldwide and no successful HIV vaccine. Although anti-HIV treatment can slow the progression of HIV infection to AIDS, it is not yet possible to completely eradicate the virus and prevent the spread of HIV. Until an HIV vaccine is available, public health interventions such as controlling the source of infection, cutting off the transmission route and protecting susceptible populations are the most effective means of prevention.

Measures to prevent HIV epidemic in the population: 1. Extensive publicity and education to equip the public with knowledge about HIV transmission routes and prevention methods.

2.Screening of HIV infection in the blood donation population to ensure the safety of blood and blood products.

3.Educate on safe sex and promote the use of condoms to avoid infection through sexual means.

4.Stay away from drugs, conduct behavioral interventions for drug users, and avoid sharing syringes.

5.Take mother-to-child interruption measures for HIV seropositive mothers, i.e. antiviral treatment during pregnancy, elective cesarean delivery, avoid breastfeeding and use artificial feeding.

6.Strengthen disinfection and isolation measures in places such as medical and beauty care, and avoid sharing razors, toothbrushes, etc. in daily life.
