It may be a TMJ disorder that causes the bones to rattle when swallowing, as in the case of a maxillofacial tumour, this is usually accompanied by pain, masses, swollen and deformed joints and an inability to open the mouth, so a mere rattle of the bones when swallowing is not usually cancer.
