The outcome of treatment for patients with spinal cord compression is closely related to the nature of the lesion, the degree of spinal cord damage, the level of spinal cord compression and the timing of treatment. With the exception of some patients with severe spinal cord damage, most patients generally have a better outcome if they are diagnosed and treated promptly.
