Teratomas do not go away on their own and require treatment. Teratoma is an ovarian germ cell tumor of unknown etiology, which may be related to some disorder during embryonic development. Teratoma is mainly treated surgically, and currently the common surgical method is minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, in which histopathology is taken to determine the nature of the tumor. Most patients with benign teratomas should have regular follow-up after surgery to prevent recurrence, and most can retain their fertility. However, in the case of malignant teratoma, postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy will be required depending on the specific condition. Patients with teratomas should not be alarmed and should undergo surgery as soon as possible according to medical advice. Patients who have not undergone surgical treatment must be closely monitored for tumor enlargement. If the tumor increases in size, treatment must be taken as soon as possible.
