The fitting of contact lenses for myopia plus astigmatism depends on the degree of myopia as well as astigmatism. If the myopia is low and the astigmatism is low, you can divide the astigmatism by two and add it to the myopia and try on frames. If you are satisfied with your vision and comfort level, you can wear contact lenses according to this prescription. However, if the astigmatism is high, a simple conversion may not meet the vision or comfort requirements, so it is usually not recommended to over-convert, and it is better to wear special toric contact lenses for better vision and comfort. However, if both astigmatism and myopia are large, soft contact lenses may not be able to meet vision or comfort requirements, so we recommend wearing hard RGP contact lenses to correct myopia and astigmatism.
