Is there any effect on the fetus when multiple drugs are taken by mistake in early menopause ?

Patient: Description of condition (onset, main symptoms, hospital visited, etc.): I had blood in my urine once about ten days before menopause, and took Tevpic, anti-women’s infection, and Qinglin granules for a week, and took Dioxin, and found out I was pregnant one week before menopause. Doctor, does this have any effect on the fetus? We can’t say for sure, I hope you will reply soon.
  Obstetrician and gynecologist.
  What are stem cells?
Stem cells are primitive cells with the potential of self-replication and multi-directional differentiation, which are the cells of origin of the organism and the seed cells that form various tissues and organs of the body such as muscles, bones and nerves. At the earliest stages of embryonic development, all cells are stem cells. A cell is damaged and can be repaired completely by other cells. If the damage is severe and the cell damage cannot be repaired, the embryo dies.
As mentioned above, since you used the drug within 35 days of menopause, the effect of the drug on the fetus during that period is all or nothing. That is, either the drug has a great effect on the fetus and kills the fetus, and the fetus will die; otherwise the drug has no effect on the fetus and the embryo can survive well. This period is not a teratogenic period (if the drug has an effect on the fetus, the fetus will abort if it dies)! In addition, the medication is not long, and it is mainly B (relatively safe drugs during pregnancy), so there is no need to worry about it. However, it is still necessary to take regular maternity and teratology examinations! And take oral Elavil (B complex + folic acid) to prevent or/and reduce fetal malformations!
Patient: Hello doctor, thank you very much for your reply, I had also taken Telbivitol during this period and had a pain relief cream on my back, my husband had also taken Amoxicillin, we had taken contraception, but I didn’t know that I was still pregnant accidentally on that occasion, I went to the hospital for ultrasound and urine test one week after menopause to know that I was pregnant, as it has been inconvenient abroad, so I asked you for advice, does this have any effect on the fetus and what should we do.
Li Jiafu, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Wuhan University Central South Hospital.
Drug teratogenicity, which accounts for only 1% of the total teratogenic causes, is exaggerated; the critical period (often the early embryonic period, i.e., 5~~14 weeks of menopause), long-term use of drugs with teratogenic potential is teratogenic; it is not the occasional use of drugs that can lead to malformation !
Although not in line with eugenic principles, it can stay
It is important to prevent or/and reduce fetal malformation by taking oral Elavil (its ingredients are B-complex vitamins + folic acid).
Patient: What are the 3 mandatory birth defect screenings?
  Obstetrician and gynecologist.
At 11~13+6 weeks of menopause, ultrasound is performed to measure the thickness of the nuchal translucency, or NT, to understand the possibility of chromosomal disorders, with a normal value of less than 0.25 cm.
Down’s syndrome screening is performed from 14 to 19 weeks of menopause to find out the probability of trisomy 21, trisomy 18 and neural tube abnormality.
Both of these tests are screening tests and cannot confirm the diagnosis.
It cannot be overemphasized that from 18 to 24 weeks after menopause, an iterative prenatal ultrasound with 3D ultrasound is performed to screen for congenital anomalies with anatomical abnormalities. However, it should be emphasized that not all anatomical anomalies can be screened out, such as congenital heart disease, and even after screening, nearly 1/3 of congenital heart disease is missed before delivery!
Ultrasound at 30~32 weeks of menopause, also known as small abnormalities ultrasound, mainly monitors fetal growth and development and fetal brain and bone development.
After 37 weeks of menopause, ultrasound is mainly used to determine the fetal position, verify the position of the placenta and predict the size of the fetus and the amount of amniotic fluid.

Birth Defects Prevention Day: supplementation with multivitamins containing folic acid to prevent birth defects
This year, September 12 is the tenth “Birth Defects Prevention Day” in China. Birth defects are various structural, intellectual or metabolic abnormalities that are present in babies at birth. With the gradual prevention and control of infectious diseases, birth defects have gradually become a major cause of infant and child mortality in developing countries.
At present, the incidence of birth defects in China is about 5.6%, and the number of new birth defects is about 900,000 cases per year, of which about 250,000 cases are clinically evident at birth. It is estimated that China will have more than 130,000 new cases of congenital heart disease, about 18,000 cases of neural tube defects, about 23,000 cases of cleft lip and cleft palate, about 35,000 cases of congenital hearing impairment, and 23,000-25,000 cases of Down’s syndrome each year. [1]
Faced with such a grim reality, the Chinese Medical Association’s Guidelines for Preconception and Pregnancy Care in China clearly recommends preconception/early pregnancy supplementation with folic acid or a multivitamin containing folic acid [2] for comprehensive prevention of birth defects. Dr. Andrew E. Czeizel, a professor of genetics at the Academy of Sciences in Budapest, Hungary, confirmed back in the 1990s through a large sample of clinical studies that the Elavil? formula prevented neural tube abnormalities and other related birth defects.
In this large randomized, double-blind, controlled study of 5,453 pregnant women over an 8-year period, it was shown that Elavil? was effective in preventing neural tube abnormalities by 92% in the first trimester[3] and significantly reduced the incidence of other birth defects by 47%[4] and reduced early pregnancy reactions and other pregnancy complications[5].
Global clinical studies have shown that Elavil? formula is effective in preventing birth defects, and supplementation with a multivitamin containing 0.8 mg of folic acid during pregnancy is effective in reducing neural tube abnormalities in newborns.
