How to do with cervical spondylosis

Cervical spondylosis is a chronic degenerative disease that can affect people’s health and quality of life for a long time. Once you have cervical spondylosis, the treatment methods are conservative treatment and surgery. 1.Conservative treatment: (1) Traction therapy is one of the effective treatments of conservative treatment, which can limit the activity of cervical spine and reduce the edema and congestion of lesion tissue. Relax the cervical tissues and relieve the spasm, which can reduce part of the intervertebral disc pressure load. It helps to maintain the physiological curvature of the cervical spine and restore the adjustment of cervical spine sequence and small joint dysfunction. Cervical traction can relieve painful symptoms and increase the intervertebral space and intervertebral foramen, and is suitable for patients with mild cervical spondylosis, frequent drop pillow and change of cervical physiological curvature. Traction therapy has a certain effect on young people with simple disc herniation. The intervertebral discs of young people remain very elastic, and the process of traction can reduce the pressure inside the intervertebral discs, so that some patients can reduce the symptoms of nerve irritation in this way. But for older people, the cervical spine degeneration is bigger, the intervertebral disc loses elasticity, especially with cervical spinal stenosis patients do traction can not play a corresponding role, the effect will be poor. (2) Physiotherapy is an effective treatment method in the treatment of cervical spondylosis, which can eliminate and relieve the spasm and stiffness of the soft tissues of the neck, and relieve and improve the blood circulation of the muscle tissue. 2.Surgical treatment: The purpose is to release the nerve compression and maintain the stability and continuity of the cervical spine, to obtain the normal physiological curvature and spinal canal volume and size that are compatible with the spinal cord, to provide the possibility of preserving the function and morphology of the spinal cord, and to effectively stop the development of the disease. Treatment methods include decompression, fusion, and disc replacement. In the case of neurogenic cervical spondylosis, it is generally believed that if the improvement of symptoms is not satisfactory with regular full course of conservative treatment, if the patient has difficulty tolerating it, if it seriously affects working life, or if there is a significant weakening of strength or even a tendency of muscle atrophy during the course of the disease, the doctor will recommend the patient to consider surgery, which is a relative indication for surgery; while spinal cord cervical spondylosis is an absolute indication for surgery, which is ineffective with conservative treatment and prone to cause walking Conservative treatment is not effective, and it is easy to cause other dangers such as walking and falling, and it is easy to cause serious problems such as paraplegia after mild trauma, so once diagnosed, surgery should be done as soon as possible. Conservative treatment of cervical spondylosis is the prerequisite basis for surgical treatment, and is also the basic method of treating cervical spondylosis. After surgery, conservative treatment is still necessary to maintain and consolidate the effect of surgical treatment.
