Snoring sleep disorders. Snoring like thunder

Patient: Had been tested in hospital, 170 times of apnea in one night, snoring like thunder, with intermittent outbursts, my wife is afraid to sleep in the same room, what should I do? Laboratory and test results: Response: If sleep snoring is severe, or if family members notice the phenomenon of breathing stopping during sleep, or if sleep quality is poor and daytime sleepiness is evident despite sufficient sleep time, then the presence of sleep apnea is to be suspected. To clarify the presence of this disorder, sleep apnea monitoring is performed – one night of sleep (≥6 hours) wearing a monitoring device. The analysis of the test results makes it possible to clarify the presence of sleep apnea and whether sleep apnea is predominantly obstructive or central. If obstructive apnea is predominant and hypoxemia is present, then it is called “obstructive sleep apnea-hypoventilation syndrome”. This disease can be caused by obesity, abnormal nasopharyngeal structure (small jaw deformity), chronic inflammation of the nasopharynx, etc. Treatment of obstructive sleep apnea-hypoventilation syndrome, there are many treatment methods: 1, weight loss: general weight loss 5 to 10Kg, because the obesity caused by the disease will have a significant improvement. But few people can insist on it. 2, sleep posture change: the use of side lying position, high lying position can significantly reduce the appearance of snoring and apnea. However, the posture of people often changes during sleep and it is difficult to control. 3.Nasopharyngeal surgery: It is effective for people with small mandibular deformity; however, if the sleep snoring is caused by obesity, the recurrence rate is nearly 100% 5 years after the surgery. 4.Wearing snore stopper: Wearing a device similar to braces during sleep can open up the airway and reduce the symptoms. However, not everyone has effective and there are obvious symptoms of gum discomfort. 5.Wearing a non-invasive ventilator: It is the optimal solution to treat this disease. However, it is expensive and slightly inconvenient to carry; if there is no humidifying and heating device, it will cause obvious nasopharyngeal discomfort symptoms. If central apnea is predominant, then it is common in people with alcoholism, drug addiction, heart failure or brain disease. The only method of treatment is to wear a non-invasive ventilator, there is no other better way. There is no clear effective medication for this disease.
