How to check the cervix

The cervix is part of the uterus and is located in the deepest part of the female vagina. Due to its special physiological location and role, the cervix is prone to a series of pathologies, so it is very important to check the cervix in general. At present, the examination of the cervix is mainly performed through general gynecological examination, cervical TCT examination, HPV virus examination, electronic colposcopy and cervical biopsy. A general gynecological examination is when the doctor exposes the cervix after dilating the vagina with a dildo and looks at the size, color and appearance of the cervix with the naked eye. The main purpose of this test is to see if the cervix has precancerous lesions or has developed cancer. Since HPV infection is an important factor in causing cervical cancer, the HPV test is performed by taking cells from the top of the cervix to analyze whether the cervix is infected with the HPV virus. Electronic colposcopy is used to diagnose precancerous lesions or cervical cancer by microscopic biopsy of the cervix in patients with abnormalities in TCT and HPV tests. Women who are sexually active should have cervical examination once a year for early detection of cervical lesions and timely treatment.
