The pain of breastfeeding mothers: there is a kind of tossing and turning, called rising milk

A kind of tossing and turning, called milk after the successful “unloading”, the mother found that the first few days after delivery, the breast feel still very soft, soon, the blood supply screaming to increase, lactation cells like chicken blood hard work, get, the breast also followed the change of solid. 2-5 days after delivery
Within 2-5 days after delivery, the mother is surprised to find that her breasts start to produce transitional milk (milk after the end of colostrum secretion), and some mothers may also have a feeling of swelling. After that, the breast milk will change in a magical way and the mother will notice that the breast milk becomes thicker, like white cream, about 1 week after the birth of the baby.
After 10-14 days, the milk starts to look like skim milk again, but after you continue to feed for a while, the fat content in the milk comes back a little bit and looks thicker. Don’t worry, these are normal phenomena and do not mean that there is anything wrong with the milk. As long as the mother often feeds the baby and gently massage the breast before and during feeding, it will help to reduce the swelling and pain. What is the problem with breastfeeding? When milk and extra body fluids overfill the breasts, the milk rises, and in addition to being very uncomfortable, it can sometimes be painful. The best solution? Of course, the best solution is to feed your baby as often as possible, as long as she feels hungry.
Feed your baby with both breasts about every 2 hours. After all, swollen breasts are not conducive to holding the areola properly. But it is swollen? It is recommended to use these methods to relieve the pain: before feeding or milking, use a towel with warm water to warm the breasts or take a hot bath to promote the flow of milk. Of course, hot compresses are not a panacea, and they may not help at all with certain types of swelling and pain. Mom should try cold compresses in between feedings or after feedings. If the areola is so swollen that the baby can’t even hold it properly, squeeze out some milk to soften the areola before feeding, and it may work.
