Diagnosis and treatment of venous insufficiency of the lower extremities

There are very many patients with clinical swelling of the lower extremities, and many patients with swollen legs often think that it is kidney disease, while they go to the hospital to perform renal function and other tests, but the results are normal. In fact, most patients with swollen lower limbs clinically are caused by venous insufficiency of the lower limbs. Lower limb venous insufficiency is caused by poor function of lower limb venous valves, lower limb venous reflux or lower limb venous reflux disorders. The main manifestations are: heavy lower limbs, hidden calf pain, easy fatigue, edema, symptoms related to standing, movement and bed rest, typical performance is light in the morning and heavy in the evening, light when resting in bed, light when getting up in the morning, and aggravated after activity. Many patients work in jobs that require standing, such as salesmen, textile workers, teachers, and those engaged in heavy physical labor, etc. Many patients also work in sedentary jobs, such as office workers and bank employees, and of course, there are some patients whose onset is not related to the nature of their jobs.
