Acute mastitis treated with Tui Na acupuncture point breast drainage with herbs

To analyze the clinical effect of breast drainage by tui na point manipulation with Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of acute mastitis. Methods Ninety patients with acute mastitis were randomly divided into two groups, and the treatment group was treated with massage and breast drainage with traditional Chinese medicine, while the control group was treated with antibiotics. Results The recovery of clinical indicators such as body temperature, breast lumps and pain in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group, and the treatment period of patients in the treatment group was shorter than that in the observation group, and the treatment efficiency was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The treatment of acute mastitis using tui na point technique for breast drainage together with traditional Chinese medicine can shorten the treatment cycle without any side effects and has good clinical effects.
In the clinical treatment of acute mastitis, I have obtained very good results by using Tui-Na acupuncture point technique supplemented with Chinese herbal medicine for internal and external application, which is reported below.
  1. Information and methods
  1.1 General information
A total of 90 patients with acute mastitis were admitted to our hospital from February 2011 to February 2013, with an average age of (27.94±2.17) years. There were 62 cases of primiparous mothers and 28 cases of menstrual mothers. Clinical symptoms were mainly fever, breast lumps, pain, redness and swelling, and all patients presented with acute mastitis by clinical diagnosis. The patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group (45 cases in each group), and there was no significant difference in clinical symptoms, disease duration and age between the two patients, and the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05).
  1.2 General methods
  1.2.1 Control group
According to the clinical symptoms of patients, antibiotics were used for treatment. Penicillin G 4-8 million * 0.9% sodium chloride * 5-7 days. The control group was able to reduce the fever quickly, but the discharge of milk did not completely shen.
  1.2.2 Observation group
Breast drainage by tui na point technique: the patient was placed in a supine position, the breast affected area was exposed, the doctor covered the breast affected area with a sterilized white cloth, four fingers together and perpendicular to the thumb, and pushed the nipple in a unidirectional manner from the root of the breast, in a radial manner. The massage is performed according to the patient’s clinical symptoms, such as the size of the breast lump, with gentle and moderate strokes that the patient can bear. The duration of massage is about 30 minutes for a single breast, and the duration of massage treatment can be extended for those with severe clinical symptoms.
Take 10 grams of each of whole guajia, angelica, green Chenpi, burdock, dahurica and leaky reed, 30 grams of honeysuckle and 6 grams of raw licorice, and decoct with appropriate amount of water; take 64 grams of each of Chenpi, licorice, raw asparagus and atractylodes, and 160 grams of each of rhubarb, dahurica and cyperus, and grind them into powder. Add appropriate amount of bee secret for modulation and apply to the affected breast at the end of the manipulation, once a day. The duration of treatment was generally three days, and in the longest case, five days.
  1.3 Evaluation of therapeutic effect
According to the Criteria for Diagnosis and Treatment of Mastitis, cured: clinical symptoms disappeared, breast lumps disappeared, and blood tests were normal. Significant progress: clinical symptoms disappeared, no pain or fever condition was seen, breast lumps did not disappear completely, and blood examination was normal. Progress: clinical symptoms disappeared, milk excretion was normal, lumps were present, and blood tests were normal. Ineffective: no change of clinical symptoms or deterioration of patients.
  1.4 Statistical methods
The clinical data between groups were statistically analyzed by statistical SPSS15.0, applying t-test for measurement data and X2 test. The difference P<0.05 indicates statistical significance.
  2. Results
The clinical symptoms of both groups showed improvement, and the observation group was significantly better than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).

  Control group4539342840
Comparing the clinical efficacy of the two groups, 45 patients in the observation group, 34 cases were cured, 6 cases were significantly improved, 4 cases were improved and 1 case was invalid, with a treatment efficiency of 97.78%. In the 45 patients of the observation group, 15 cases were cured, 14 cases were significantly improved, 10 cases were improved and 6 cases were ineffective, with a treatment efficiency of 86.67%. The control group was significantly better than the observation group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).
The treatment time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). One case of mild skin allergy in the observation group, three cases of inflammation and four cases of lactation in the control group, and the patients' adverse symptoms gradually improved after targeted treatment.
  3. Conclusion
Acute mastitis is known as “canker sore”. According to Chinese medicine, this disease is mainly caused by the obstruction of the mammary meridians due to unclean diet and liver qi in the postpartum period, resulting in poor flow of maternal milk. Western medicine mainly uses antibiotics to treat the disease, but the drugs are cold and can relieve the clinical symptoms, but can cause poor prognosis and prolong the patient’s treatment period. Therefore, the clinical treatment of acute mastitis is mainly based on the use of acupressure point techniques for breast drainage together with traditional Chinese medicine.
Tui na point manipulation for breast drainage is the basic way to treat acute mastitis in Chinese medicine. The use of acupressure point method is mainly through the application of acupuncture points on the patient area, to promote blood circulation in the area of breast ducts, with the effect of reducing swelling and relieving pain. At the same time, the appropriate tui na technique can also strengthen the patient to improve the contraction function of breast tissue cells, strengthen the blood pressure in the tissue vessels, to achieve the purpose of treating acute mastitis. Gold San has a miraculous effect in reducing swelling and pain, and is an effective medicine for sores and canker sores, redness and other diseases. Some studies have shown that the application of gold powder for topical treatment can significantly improve the efficacy and reduce the treatment time of patients.
