What are the drugs infertility patients need to be aware of

  1. Tamoxifen Tablets Tamoxifen is an anti-estrogenic drug with a chemical structure and mechanism of action similar to that of chlorpheniramine. Tamoxifen mainly competes with estrogen for receptors in tissues and binds to them, forming a tamoxifen-receptor complex, which is transported to the nucleus and used to activate the formation of estrogen-like proteins. The effect of estrogen is blocked by the inability of tamoxifen to bind to nuclear receptors in the nucleus. In males, this biological effect of anti-estrogenic activity is particularly pronounced at the hypothalamic level, where it significantly weakens the negative feedback inhibition of gonadotropin-releasing hormone secretion and may also occupy estrogen receptors in testicular interstitial cells. If hypothalamic function is normal at this time, the hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis will be active, thus enhancing testicular function and increasing sperm production for the purpose of treating male infertility. Tamoxifen generally has no side effects, with only a few patients experiencing increased libido and erotic orgasm, and a few patients experiencing testicular enlargement. Long-term follow-up of the children born has been performed and no congenital abnormalities were found. Indications: ①Men who have not been fertile for at least 1 year; ②People with abnormal semen examination for at least 3 times; ③People with abnormal semen quality but the cause is unknown; ④People with inflammation of the reproductive tract or varicocele and no significant improvement in semen for more than 1 year; ⑤People whose spouse has no abnormal gynecological examination; ⑥People with normal gonadotropic function and peripheral blood testosterone level. Dosage Each oral dose is 10mg twice daily. Take the drug continuously for 2 to 24 months. During the drug period, the sperm density and ejaculate volume are generally increased by 20% to 30% compared with the basal level after the drug, which can last until 6 to 9 months after the drug is used. 2, coenzyme Q10 coenzyme Q10 is a fat-soluble antioxidant, can activate the body’s cells and cellular energy nutrition, has the function of improving human immunity, enhance antioxidant, delay aging and enhance human vitality, etc., medical widely used in cardiovascular system diseases, domestic and foreign widely used in nutritional supplements and food additives. Excessive amounts of reactive oxygen species damage sperm function and are detrimental to male fertility. Oxidative stress is associated with the occurrence of a variety of male infertility, such as idiopathic infertility, varicocele, spinal cord injury, prostatitis, and leukocytospermia. The mechanism of oxidative stress causing male infertility is to affect semen quality and function and cause sperm DNA damage. Recent studies have concluded that high levels of reactive oxygen species and low levels of antioxidants are present in the semen of patients with unexplained male infertility. Coenzyme Q10 is used in infertility treatment as an antioxidant treatment to improve sperm quality by improving the damage caused by excessive reactive oxygen species. Dosage 20mg orally 3 times a day. 3. Indomethacin Enteric Tablets Indomethacin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and a prostaglandin synthase inhibitor. The pharmacological effect is to produce antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects through the synthesis of prostaglandin (PG) in the body. It is mainly used for the treatment of acute and chronic rheumatoid arthritis, gouty arthritis and cancer pain. However, indomethacin can also increase the concentration of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and seminal plasma cAMP in blood.
