Whether medicated lithotripsy can be seen depends on the size of the discharged stone; smaller stones are generally difficult to observe, but larger ones can be seen. Drug lithotripsy is generally used for smaller size, smooth surface of the urinary tract stones or extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy after the adjuvant treatment, generally in the stone diameter or lithotripsy diameter at 0.5 ~ 1.0cm is appropriate. In addition, pharmacologic lithotripsy requires that the lower urinary tract be free of obstruction. If the urine is collected and filtered, it is usually possible to see some small particles of varying diameters, but there are usually no stones of large size. Stones that are very small in size are difficult to visualize if they are not collected and filtered. Those who need medication for stone removal should apply the medication under doctor’s supervision, and need to drink more water during stone removal to promote peristalsis of the ureter and help stone removal.
