What is trichomoniasis transmitted through?

There are two ways to get infected with Trichomonas vaginalis: first, directly through sexual intercourse; second, indirectly, which means that women can get infected by going to public baths or taking saunas, hot springs or swimming, but it is more likely to be transmitted from men to women during intercourse. Women infected with trichomonas will have increased vaginal discharge, which is often foamy, and will also feel itching and pain in the vulva and pain during intercourse. If there is an infection in the urethra, symptoms such as frequent urination, painful urination and even hematuria may occur.
