Bacterial vaginitis usually requires several courses of treatment to be cured

The number of courses of treatment for bacterial vaginitis depends on the severity of the patient’s condition, the specific type of bacteria and the treatment method, and requires a case-by-case analysis. The vagina is self-purifying, but frequent sex or excessive vaginal douching may cause changes in the vaginal environment and increase the number of pathogenic bacteria, which can lead to bacterial vaginitis. The vaginal discharge will increase and the discharge will have an odor, mostly fishy. It is recommended to visit a gynecologist in time to have the specific pathogenic bacteria examined and then treated under the doctor’s guidance, such as washing the vulva with cleanser and taking metronidazole orally or vaginally as prescribed by the doctor, usually 7 days for a course of treatment, usually 2-3 courses of treatment are needed. After the course of treatment, a timely review at the gynecology department and three negative test results will indicate a cure. Since bacterial vaginitis is stubborn and prone to recurrence, it must be treated properly with medication under the guidance of a professional doctor.
