The indications for surgery for pancreatitis are as follows: 1) severe pancreatitis combined with biliary obstruction or cholangitis should be treated by early or emergency surgery to release the obstruction; 2) localized fluid in the pancreas exists and is infected, and minimally invasive local drainage is performed through ultrasound or CT guidance; 3) pancreatic pseudocysts, larger than 6 cm or with clinical symptoms and secondary infection, and surgical drainage is performed after 3-6 months of observation that the cysts have not shrunk. For patients with pancreatic abscess, if imaging confirms the presence of abscess, early surgical treatment is performed.
