How to cough at night with bronchitis

Patients with bronchitis who have a strong cough at night should be treated on a case-by-case basis. If the cough is dry, for example, without much sputum, strong cough suppressants can be used for relief, such as dextromethorphan or the use of drugs such as codeine phosphate for cough suppression. If the cough has more sputum, expectorant medications can be used to relieve the cough, such as acetylcysteine or ambroxol hydrochloride. In particular, if yellow or pus sputum is present, further blood analysis is needed to clarify the presence of bacterial infection. Sputum culture and drug sensitivity tests can also be done to identify the specific pathogenic bacteria of the infection. Select sensitive antibiotics for the specific pathogen, such as amoxicillin, cefuroxime, levofloxacin, etc.
