Diclofenac sodium suppositories usually take a few hours to work

  Diclofenac sodium is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with pain-relieving effects. It takes effect about 30 minutes after taking the drug and reaches its peak around 2 hours, and the drug effect can be maintained for 4-6 hours.  The main ingredient of diclofenac sodium suppository is diclofenac sodium, which can play the role of anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic, and is now commonly used to help a variety of muscle and joint pain relief. The suppository dissolves slowly in the body, and the drug gradually evaporates and is absorbed into the body through the surrounding venous plexus, thus exerting its medicinal effect. However, for the drug to have a therapeutic effect, the blood concentration of the drug in the body needs to reach a certain peak. Therefore, a blood concentration of about 30 minutes is sufficient to make it effective.  In addition, diclofenac sodium has certain side effects, such as causing peptic ulcers and even bleeding, and causing cardiovascular problems. Patients are advised to pay attention to the side effects during the course of medication and follow up with regular check-ups so as to avoid them.
