Surgical excision to remove dark circles is mainly targeted at structural dark circles, which can be improved by surgically removing the loose tissue around the eyes.
However, surgical excision does not apply to pigmented dark circles and vascular dark circles, which are the more common types of dark circles. Pigmented dark circles can be relieved by topical medications such as hydroquinone and retinoic acid, and can also be treated by chemical peels and lasers; vascular dark circles can be relieved by topical vitamin K1 or vitamin C sodium.
It is advisable to visit a hospital dermatology department and consult a specialist for targeted treatment depending on the condition of your dark circles.
