General knowledge on the use of varicose veins elastic stockings

Medical compression stockings, which look like stockings, have a very different function. It is similar to ordinary stockings in appearance, but it is thicker to the touch and has much more elasticity than ordinary stockings. This kind of elastic socks are usually made of Lycra and nylon. There are 3 types of stockings: long, short and pantyhose. When buying, you can choose the size according to the thickness of your legs; there are also dark colors such as black for men to choose from. Stronger compression is the most important feature that distinguishes medical compression stockings from ordinary stockings. It applies a bottom-up gradient pressure to the muscle tissue, and then transmits the pressure to the veins with the help of the muscle tissue to promote the return of blood to the veins and improve the symptoms of bruising, thus achieving the treatment purpose.   In fact, in addition to the varicose veins of the lower extremities that have obvious symptoms should be used, those who only see “small earthworms” crawling up their legs but do not feel uncomfortable yet, or only have minor symptoms such as soreness and pain can be used. This is because medical compression stockings are effective in relieving symptoms and slowing down or preventing further development of the disease. Pregnant women are also prone to varicose veins, and compression stockings can help to alleviate their pain to some extent. Other people who have to stand for a long time due to their occupation can also wear medical compression stockings to prevent varicose veins. The best way to wear them is to put them on when you get up in the morning and take them off at night after you go to bed. They should be gradually straightened upwards until they are completely comfortable to wear, so that the pressure is evenly distributed on the legs, and do not use rough force or leave dead folds. Avoid damaging the socks with nails and rings when putting them on or taking them off. In addition, to keep the elastic socks clean, wash them with neutral detergent in water no hotter than 40 degrees Celsius and do not twist them or wash them in a washing machine with a strong speed. It is best to take turns wearing two pairs of socks to prolong their service life. Once they lose their elasticity, they should be replaced immediately.
