Patient Sun*, who underwent aneurysm clamping in a Beijing hospital on November 20, 2009, was transferred to our department for rehabilitation treatment on December 16. On December 18, 2010, the patient started rehabilitation training, including PT, OT, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, Chinese acupuncture, rehabilitation bicycle, standing bed and neurological electrical stimulation therapy. After rehabilitation and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, the patient was able to walk more than 45 meters independently, and the function of the upper limb on the affected side was partially restored. The patient was discharged with a Brunnstrom grade of 4 (partial dissociative motor phase), a simple Fugl-Meyer score of 85 (moderate limb dysfunction), and an ADL barograph score of 80 (basic self-care). We believe that most of the patients with hemiplegia can return to their families and society with minimal disability as long as they receive timely rehabilitation treatment.
