What drugs to take in the decompensated stage of liver cirrhosis

The treatment of cirrhotic decompensation is mainly symptomatic treatment, improvement of liver function, and treatment of complications. Drugs commonly used in the treatment of cirrhotic decompensation are hepatoprotective and enzyme-lowering drugs, such as silymarin or reduced glutathione. In case of ascites, diuretic treatment is required. The preferred diuretics are spironolactone and furosemide, and the dose ratio of spironolactone and furosemide is usually 100mg:40mg, which can be increased or decreased appropriately according to the symptoms of ascites and edema. If there is portal hypertension and esophagogastric fundic varices, it is recommended to routinely take oral benzoin, also known as propranolol, which can lower portal pressure and prevent rupture and bleeding of esophagogastric fundic varices. For more serious ascites, it can also be treated with ascites release plus albumin infusion. The primary disease should also be treated actively. If it is viral cirrhosis, antiviral treatment should be given. In the case of alcoholic cirrhosis, strict abstinence from alcohol is required.
