The importance of fine vision training for amblyopia treatment

  The fine visual acuity enhancement function is recognized by domestic and foreign experts as the function with the best effect of vision enhancement. The effectiveness of direct vision enhancement is mainly reflected in the fineness of the visual marker. The finer the visual marker, the more it can meet the fine difficulty increase on the level of amblyopia vision, the better the effect of vision enhancement. Therefore, the fine visual acuity enhancement function has an important role in amblyopia treatment.  Qualified fine visual acuity enhancer (function) has the standard visual acuity table in the machine and fine visual markers for different visual acuity, for example, the child’s visual acuity in the machine is 0.5, you can call out 0.51, 0.52, 0.53 from the training table ….. For example, a child with in-flight vision of 0.5 can retrieve from the training table 0.51, 0.52, 0.53 When you can see 0.59 clearly before looking at the 0.6 visual marker, it is easier to improve visual acuity than looking at the 0.6 visual marker directly from 0.5. However, most of the amblyopia devices with fine visual acuity function in China do not have an in-flight visual acuity table and corresponding fine visual acuity markers, so they cannot reach the real fine degree, so their efficacy is limited.  Among the many amblyopia treatment instruments in China, only Dr. Eye attaches importance to fine visual acuity training and does a good job of fine visual acuity items in the instrument design. Their instruments have been increasing in refinement from one generation to six generations, and this will be directly reflected in the effectiveness of the treatment. So, what are the key points that parents should pay attention to when assisting their children in fine vision exercises with Dr. Eye’s amblyopia treatment instrument? Professor Liu Dongguang, an eye specialist, summarized the key points of the fine vision training function as follows: the principle of vision enhancement: “weightlifting theory”; that is, if a child can only lift 5 kg (equivalent to vision 0.5), let him lift 3 kg, too light; lift 6 kg is too heavy; are not conducive to forging weight lifting (vision), let him lift 5.1, 5.2 5.3 ……, just can lift, but there is a certain degree of difficulty (fineness or difficulty of 0.01) of the object, the easiest way to increase the lifting gravity vision).  Use the key points: (1) select the training table: vision 0.3, with 0.3 training table (containing 0.31, 0.32, 0.33 … 0.39 fine visual scale, fine 0.01, that is, the child can just see, but with 0.01 difficulty), vision 0.7 with 0.7 (No. 17) training table, and so on. Choosing a training chart that is comparable to the level of visual acuity can prevent the visual scale from being too small, as in looking at sesame seeds; or too large, as in looking at a door or window, both of which are detrimental to increasing vision.  (2) Increasing Difficulty: After the 0.3 training table is clear, the child must enter the 0.4 training table to make it more difficult (parents do not have to worry about too much difficulty because the 0.4 table contains excessive visual standards that can smooth the child’s transition to smooth recognition of 0.41, 0.42, 0.43, and so on). And so on. The whole process is like making a child climb a small staircase, so that the visual acuity increases step by step.  (3) Training time: about 5 minutes each time (the energy of children can be extended to 10 minutes), so that children have a sense of urgency, easy to focus on a high degree of attention (this is necessary to ensure the effectiveness of the treatment). The light for fine vision training is a parallel light with a flash of 2~3 seconds. In addition to stimulating the development of visual cells, but also to force children must be highly concentrated, otherwise they can not see only a second of the existence of the visual mark, that is, to affect the effectiveness of treatment.  (4) In-camera visual acuity (monthly or weekly) ① Can be used to help select a training schedule. What is the in-flight visual acuity, use the number of table training, more accurate.  ②It can be used to observe the increase in visual acuity on a monthly, or even weekly basis. Usually, the error between in-flight visual acuity and 5-meter visual acuity is about 1 row, and if in-flight visual acuity increases, 5-meter visual acuity will increase sooner or later. However, in the following cases, the in-flight visual acuity may be higher than the 5-meter visual acuity by more than 2 rows: a myopia or astigmatism with myopia; b wearing medium or high farsightedness glasses (magnifying effect); c visual acuity of 0.9 or more. d, the visual acuity has been improved without adjusting the degree of glasses.  ③In-machine vision higher than 5 meters vision: Some children treated for a period of time, 5 meters vision only 0.8 ~ 0.9, but has been able to see 1.5 training table, you can add red or blue tablets before the training table, reduce the contrast and then let the child see its just visible training table, until the 5 meters vision to 1.0 or more.
